AUSTIN, Texas — After a cool fall-like start in the 50s and 60s, expect increasing clouds through the day as tropical moisture slowly moves in from Tropical Storm Beta. A few rain bands may move in Sunday evening but the best chance for rain will be east of Austin.
All eyes are on Tropical Storm Beta as it approaches the Texas coast. Landfall is expected late Monday night or very early Tuesday morning as a tropical storm along the middle Texas coast. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for parts of south-central Texas and includes Fayette Country where four-plus inches of rain could fall in this area through Tuesday evening.
Heavier more widespread rain is expected in our region on Monday and Tuesday. Take a look at our forecast rainfall totals for the next seven days across Central Texas. The highest rainfall accumulation will be east of Austin.
Air quality has dropped to moderate levels due to smoke moving in from the West Coast wildfires. Expect air quality to improve by Monday.
